Recap: Salmon River Savages vs. Highland Huskies
The Salmon River Savages won the last time they faced the Highland Huskies, and things went their way on Monday too. Salmon River was the clear victor by a 44-22 margin over Highland. That looming 44-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Salmon River yet this season.
Despite the defeat, Highland saw an underclassman step up: Kylee Beck scored five points along with 17 rebounds and five blocks. Beck has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last nine times she's played.
Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of 11 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Salmon River pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Highland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Salmon River will be playing in front of their home fans against Horseshoe Bend at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Highland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Deary at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Deary has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
