Basketball Game Preview: Union County Patriots vs. Grainger Grizzlies

Union County is 0-10 against Grainger since December of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Union County Patriots will square off against the Grainger Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Union County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 79-74 W over South Greene last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Grainger had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 51-50 victory over Providence School. The win was all the more spectacular given the Grizzlies' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 140th in Tennessee, while the Stallions are ranked 30th in Florida).

The victory got Grainger back to even at 8-8. As for Union County, their record now sits at 8-5.

Union County might still be hurting after the 49-26 defeat they got from Grainger when the teams last played on December 3rd. Can Union County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
