Basketball Game Preview: Riverdale Chieftains vs. La Farge/Youth Initiative

After both having extra time off, the Riverdale Chieftains and La Farge/Youth Initiative will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Farge/Youth Initiative took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverdale, who comes in off a win.

Riverdale took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They blew past Iowa-Grant, posting a 67-30 win. That looming 67-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chieftains yet this season.

Meanwhile, La Farge/Youth Initiative was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by De Soto 70-13. The contest marked La Farge/Youth Initiative's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for La Farge/Youth Initiative, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Riverdale was able to grind out a solid win over La Farge/Youth Initiative when the teams last played back in January, winning 47-39. Will Riverdale repeat their success, or does La Farge/Youth Initiative have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
