Basketball Recap: Lucy Mehlis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lane Tech over Glenbrook North

Lane Tech and Glenbrook North squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lane Tech had to settle for second. They fell to the Glenbrook North Spartans 52-47. The Champions have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lane Tech's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucy Mehlis, who posted nine points. Mehlis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Grace Bush was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Lane Tech's loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Glenbrook North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Lane Tech nor Glenbrook North have any future games scheduled.
