Basketball Recap: Huntington Expression Prep Comes Up Short

Huntington Expression Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Boyd County Lions 104-62. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Kings came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in West Virginia, while the Lions are ranked 60th in Kentucky).

Huntington Expression Prep now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Boyd County, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.

Huntington Expression Prep has already played their next game (against Johnson Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Boyd County Lions face off against the Pikeville Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Boyd County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 contests -- so hopefully Pikeville likes a good challenge.
