Basketball Recap: Eastmoor Academy Comes Up Short

Eastmoor Academy was the 56-39 winner over Walnut Ridge when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Eastmoor Academy Warriors fell 50-41 to the Walnut Ridge Scots on Friday. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Walnut Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nyah Hubbard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Hubbard is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nakushe Alsop, who posted eight points in addition to eight assists and eight steals.

Eastmoor Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Walnut Ridge, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

When Eastmoor Academy and Walnut Ridge next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Eastmoor Academy will try to stop Africentric Early College's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Walnut Ridge will try to stop South's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
