Football Recap: North Gaston Comes Up Short + How To Watch

North Gaston had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it ten. They were outmatched by the South Point Red Raiders and fell 53-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 24th).

As for South Point, their record is now 5-2. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won four contests by 25 points or more so far this season.

South Point was led to victory by Kaveaun Pless and Patrick Blee. Pless rushed for 138 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries, while Blee rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. What's more, Blee racked up 156.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

North Gaston has already played their next game, a 76-0 defeat against Crest on the 17th. As for South Point, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-0 win against Kings Mountain on the 17th.
