Despite the loss, Compass Academy saw an underclassman step up: Liam Gahr dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Tanner Gahr was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Kermit was led to victory by Jaden Bejarano and Diego Juarez. Bejarano scored ten points along with five assists and three steals, while Juarez scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Bejarano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zeke Espino, who scored nine points.
Compass Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Kermit, their win bumped their record up to 17-13.
Compass Academy will head out on the road to face off against Alpine at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Alpine's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Compass Academy has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. Kermit will take on Crane at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crane is coming into the contest with nine straight losses on the road, meaning Kermit will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
