Recap: Silsbee Tigers vs. Bridge City Cardinals
The Silsbee Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Bridge City 33-7. Given Silsbee's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Bridge City is ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Silsbee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Moshier, who threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Trei Kibbles and his 115 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Silsbee's victory.
Silsbee's victory was their 12th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.25 points. As for Bridge City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Silsbee will be playing in front of their home fans against Jasper at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jasper is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Bridge City, they will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
