Softball Recap: Lutheran North Find Success

Lutheran North won the last time they faced Chippewa Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Big Reds by a score of 12-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Elise Mantay made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mikenna Campisi was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

Lutheran North's record now sits at 19-5. As for Chippewa Valley, they dropped their record down to 10-17 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Lutheran North has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Armada on the 28th. As for Chippewa Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-0 defeat against Romeo on the 28th.
