Baseball Recap: Earlville Takes a Loss

Earlville fell victim to Annawan-Wethersfield and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Titans. The Red Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Earlville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Clifford, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double was Clifford's first of the season.

Earlville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Earlville will face off against Parkview Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, they will challenge Mercer County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
