Basketball Game Preview: Aransas Pass Panthers vs. Cole Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers duke it out with the Cougars on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Aransas Pass sitting on seven straight victories and Cole on 12.

Aransas Pass is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat IDEA Quest College Prep 94-62. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cole was able to grind out a solid win over Rice Consolidated on Saturday, taking the game 57-48. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Raiders are ranked 613th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cole's victory bumped their record up to 27-7. As for Aransas Pass, their win bumped their record up to 26-12.

Aransas Pass might still be hurting after the 71-49 loss they got from Cole in their previous matchup back in March of 2020. Can Aransas Pass avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
