Basketball Recap: Chapman Comes Up Short

Chapman had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 51-21 loss at the hands of the River Bluff Gators. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since January 6th.

Chapman lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kamryn Thompkins, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead River Bluff to victory, but perhaps none more so than Campell Childers, who put up 11 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Chaelyn Tifre, who earned nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Chapman has already played their next matchup, a 58-20 win against Spartanburg Christian Academy on the 22nd. As for River Bluff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-34 victory against Broome on the 22nd.
