Soccer Recap: Watauga Finishes Even with Northern Guilford

Neither the Watauga Pioneers nor the Northern Guilford Nighthawks could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The outcome might've been different if Quincy Honeycutt hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Maddrey Long and Gavin Lipinski scored both of Watauga's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Watauga's draw makes their record 4-2-3 this season. Meanwhile, Northern Guilford's record is now 2-3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Watauga will face off against Forbush at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northern Guilford, they will take on East Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
