Baseball Recap: Westover Christian Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Westover Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over Faith Christian Academy. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Faith Christian Academy, too.

Silas Zeidler and Colt Cromy were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Zeidler tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Cromy struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). At the plate, Zeidler scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Cromy scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Those three runs gave Zeidler a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tanner Medford was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Johnson, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3.

Westover Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .167.

Faith Christian Academy's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
