Basketball Game Preview: Libertyville Wildcats vs. Lake Forest Scouts

The Libertyville Wildcats will head out to square off against the Lake Forest Scouts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Libertyville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Lake Forest likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Libertyville didn't have too much trouble with Zion-Benton as they won 63-45. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Zee-Bees are ranked 407th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lake Forest had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Waukegan with a 50-45 win on Friday.

Libertyville's record now sits at 10-4. As for Lake Forest, their record is now 9-6.

Libertyville suffered a grim 53-32 defeat to Lake Forest in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Libertyville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
