Baseball Recap: Hickory Flat Comes Up Short

Hickory Flat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Falkner Eagles, falling 13-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rebels have suffered against the Eagles since April 18, 2017.

Hickory Flat's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Falkner, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-4.

Looking ahead, Falkner is taking a road trip to take on Alcorn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falkner's pitchers better be ready for this one: Alcorn Central has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. Hickory Flat will be paying especially close attention to Falkner's matchup: after Falkner faces off against Alcorn Central, they'll take on Hickory Flat again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
