Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Catholic Sets Scoring Season-High Against San Miguel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Augustine Catholic). They came out on top against the San Miguel Vipers by a score of 78-70 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their 24-point performance the game before.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Augustine Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jovanni Fernandez, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave Fernandez a new career-high in points. Jonathan Ochoa was another key player, putting up 22 points along with six boards and five steals.

St. Augustine Catholic's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for San Miguel, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
