Volleyball Recap: New Braunfels Thunder Comes Up Short at Home Against San Antonio Patriots Homeschool

New Braunfels Thunder unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Homeschool in their meetings with San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool: they've now lost seven in a row.

New Braunfels Thunder was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-11, 25-11.

Peyton Callas paced New Braunfels Thunder's offense, picking up five kills. Callas got some help from Junie Flores and her seven assists. Emaleigh Force controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

New Braunfels Thunder and San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Homeschool see the court they'll take on Town East Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for San Antonio Patriots HomeSchool, their break will end when they face La Vernia at 6:15 p.m. on September 12.
