Baseball Recap: Raytown Takes a Loss

After flying high against Van Horn last Tuesday, Raytown came back down to earth. The Bluejays came up short against the Truman Patriots on Monday, falling 10-3. If the Bluejays were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Patriots when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Elijah Dunn put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Raytown now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Truman, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Raytown will welcome Ruskin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18 runs per game on average), something the Bluejays will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Truman, they will venture away from home to square off against Grain Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
