Basketball Recap: Munster Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Munster had won five straight home games and Nina Garner did her part to make it six on Wednesday. The Munster Mustangs strolled past the Hanover Central Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 66-47 thanks in part to Garner, who went 12 for 16 on her way to 31 points and eight steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cecilia Mason, who went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Loss or not, Hanover Central got some senior leadership from Ava Vanderhye and Sienna Antkiewicz. Vanderhye went 6 for 10 on her way to 13 points and five boards, while Antkiewicz posted eight points and five rebounds. That's the most points Vanderhye has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Simone Parker, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Munster has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Hanover Central, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Munster has already played their next matchup (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hanover Central has already played their next game, a 60-28 win against Hobart on the 23rd.
