Preview: Bloomfield Christian School Defenders vs. Livingston Christian Falcons
Bloomfield Christian School has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Livingston Christian Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Bloomfield Christian School earned a 34-23 victory over Oakdale Academy. Given Bloomfield Christian School's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Oakdale Academy is ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Joshua Backos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Ruma, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Bloomfield Christian School's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Jordan Antone got a bit more time on the court (26 vs. his season average of 12.67). Antone made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Even though Livingston Christian has not done well against Washtenaw Christian Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Livingston Christian came out on top against Washtenaw Christian Academy by a score of 70-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bloomfield Christian School is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Livingston Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
