Softball Recap: Uxbridge Picks Up 22nd Straight Win at Home

Uxbridge won the last time they faced Blackstone Valley RVT and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Spartans blew past the Beavers 13-1. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Erin O'Day made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Uxbridge got a massive performance out of Bailey Dzivasen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most stolen bases Dzivasen has posted since back in April. Lola Grube was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Uxbridge pushed their record up to 19-1 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Blackstone Valley RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Uxbridge will be playing at home against Leominster at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blackstone Valley RVT does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
