Knox Central has gone a perfect 10-0 against Barbourville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Knox Central got a massive performance out of Grant Miller, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Miller has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Brady Engle was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Knox Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Barbourville came up short against McCreary Central on Friday, falling 11-4.
Caiden Miracle was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Hillard, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Knox Central pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Barbourville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Knox Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Barbourville struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
