Recap: Okeechobee Brahmans vs. Rockledge Raiders
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Okeechobee Brahmans can now relate to. The contest between them and the Raiders wasn't particularly close, with the Brahmans falling 57-38. Okeechobee's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Several Brahmans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Corey Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Wilkerson hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for five straight games. John White iii was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
Rockledge was led to victory by Terrence Shannon and Ryan Blount. Shannon scored 16 points along with five steals, while Blount scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Blount has scored at least a third of Rockledge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Christian, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Okeechobee's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Rockledge, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
Okeechobee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rockledge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 88-66 win vs. Port St. Lucie on the 10th.
