Volleyball Recap: Chillicothe Beats Lafayette for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Chillicothe entered their tilt with Lafayette on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Fighting Irish. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Chillicothe was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-21.

Lyla Beetsma paced Chillicothe's offense, picking up 20 kills. Beetsma got some help from Carman Woodworth and her 34 assists. Beetsma also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ava Leamer, each putting up two.

Chillicothe's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Lafayette, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chillicothe is set to take on their familiar foe Savannah at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lafayette will face off against rival Bishop LeBlond at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
