Football Game Preview: Perry Bluejays vs. Harlan Cyclones

The Perry Bluejays are taking a road trip to challenge the Harlan Cyclones at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Perry comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Perry is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Atlantic on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bluejays took a blow against the Trojans, falling 49-7. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Trojans are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Harlan, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Creston on Friday as they made off with a 56-35 victory. The Cyclones' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Harlan, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Perry took a serious blow against Harlan in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 49-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bluejays were down 35-0.
