Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fowler walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Denver Christian Thunder on Friday, sneaking past 2-0. The win was familiar territory for the Grizzlies, who have now won 18 games in a row.

Joe Salvo made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Salvo wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Montoya, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Fowler pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Denver Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-9 record.

Fowler wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Platte Valley on the 23rd. As for Denver Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-3 victory against Dayspring Christian Academy on the 24th.
