Vermillion has gone a perfect 5-0 against Parker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Vermillion Tanagers will challenge the Parker Pheasants at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vermillion has seven straight wins, Parker has 26 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Vermillion is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Dakota Valley, who was ranked second at the time (Vermillion was ranked sixth). Vermillion walked away with a 71-63 victory over Dakota Valley last Tuesday. The Tanagers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Parker ended up a good deal behind Garretson on Tuesday and lost 48-30.

Vermillion pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-19.

Everything came up roses for Vermillion against Parker when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vermillion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
