Basketball Recap: Lawrence Academy Takes Down Ridgecroft in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Lawrence Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Ridgecroft Rams by a score of 62-55 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Nike Wiggins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and ten assists. The game was his fourth in a row with at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Hoggard, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.

Lawrence Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Ridgecroft lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Nacir Lewis, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Javion Leary, who posted 11 points.

Lawrence Academy's record now sits at 13-10. As for Ridgecroft, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Lawrence Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-39 defeat against Crossroads Christian on the 15th. Ridgecroft does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
