Softball Recap: Amite County Trojans vs. South Pike Eagles
Amite County lost to South Pike back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Amite County Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over the South Pike Eagles.
The team relied heavily on Jon'Asia Ratliff, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Diamond Sumler, who scored a run while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
The victory got Amite County back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amite County will take on Natchez at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Pike will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McComb at 6:00 p.m. on February 20th.
