Baseball Recap: Cedarville Comes Up Short

If Cedarville was riding high fresh off their 19-7 takedown of Magazine last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cedarville Pirates came up short against the Mansfield Tigers on Tuesday, falling 15-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 13-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Cedarville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Billy Bell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Cedarville dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mansfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5.

Coming up, Cedarville will venture away from home to challenge Booneville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mansfield, they will face off against Cossatot River at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
