Soccer Game Preview: Traip vs. Fryeburg

The Traip Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Fryeburg Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Traip's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last five matches.

Traip is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Cape Elizabeth just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Friday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 4-4 draw. The result kept Traip happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 30th.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous six contest, Fryeburg brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Everything went their way against Sacopee Valley on Thursday as they made off with a 5-0 win. Fryeburg haven't had any issues with Sacopee Valley recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Fryeburg's win bumped their record up to 3-4-1. Traip's draw gives them a new season record of 9-2-1.

Traip beat Fryeburg by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
