            Baseball Recap: Elko Indians vs. Fernley Vaqueros        
        
		
        
        
            Elko extended their losing streak  to three  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 13-14 in the process. They took  a  5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fernley Vaqueros. Having soared to a lofty 15  runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Elko saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Carter Kidwell, who  went 1-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
As for Fernley, their victory  ended  a  seven-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 9-14-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
On Fernley's side,  Dylon Comer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks. Comer has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Riley McCullar, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and three  runs. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fernley beat Elko by a score of  10-9 on Saturday.
