Volleyball Recap: Marcus Urenda's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Flowing Wells over Sahuaro

Flowing Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Sahuaro Cougars. The Caballeros were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Flowing Wells' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Urenda, who had 11 digs. Those 11 digs gave Urenda a new career-high. Omar Zacarias also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Flowing Wells now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Sahuaro, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flowing Wells will host Buena at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sahuaro, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ironwood Ridge at 5:30 p.m.
