Baseball Recap: Wilson Prep Comes Up Short

Wilson Prep entered their contest against North Johnston on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers lost 15-2 to the Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Nazir Vines was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season.

Wilson Prep is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4. As for North Johnston, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Wilson Prep will take on KIPP P at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Johnston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beddingfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.64 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
