Preview: Woodlake Tigers vs. Delano Tigers
The Woodlake Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Delano Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Woodlake has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Delano will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Tuesday, Woodlake lost to Parlier at home by a decisive 41-24 margin.
Meanwhile, Delano didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory.
Delano found their leader in underclassman Jotham Amodo, who scored 20 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Amodo has scored at least 25% of Delano's points. Another player making a difference was Ibrahim Shuwait, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Woodlake's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Delano, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Woodlake suffered a grim 60-38 defeat to Delano in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Woodlake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
