Basketball Game Preview: Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders vs. Millbrook Wildcats

Cardinal Gibbons hasn't had much luck against Millbrook recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders are taking a road trip to challenge the Millbrook Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Cardinal Gibbons is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.4 points per game this season.

Cardinal Gibbons is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Ben L. Smith on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cardinal Gibbons lost 74-52 to Ben L. Smith.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ty Lange, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash McSweeney, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Millbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-62 heartbreaker at the hands of Clayton. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Comets are ranked 43rd).

Cardinal Gibbons' record is now 8-4. As for Millbrook, their record is now 4-9.

Cardinal Gibbons might still be hurting after the 70-46 loss they got from Millbrook in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Can Cardinal Gibbons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
