A Season-Best Performance from Josiah Allen Leads Wheeler over Cherokee

Josiah Allen produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Wheeler to the win on Friday. Allen rushed for 256 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 31 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 68 yards.

Cherokee had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Allen it was a similar story. Allen rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 58 receiving yards the last time he and the Warriors duked it out back in October of 2023.

James Skelly Dazzles in North Paulding Win

James Skelly continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least two rushing touchdowns. He rushed for 173 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of North Paulding's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

North Paulding now has a winning record of 4-3. Skelly and North Paulding will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on October 18th.

Tanner Savasir's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cherokee over Wheeler

While Cherokee might've come up empty on Friday, Tanner Savasir wasn't going down without a fight. Savasir was unstoppable, throwing for 290 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 57 yards on only six carries.

Cherokee and Walton are set to duel on Friday. The last time Savasir took on the Raiders, he rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 156 yards on 13 of 22 attempts. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
