Volleyball Recap: Bloomer Blackhawks vs. Cadott Hornets

After flying high against Thorp on Tuesday, Bloomer came back down to earth. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Cadott Hornets by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Bloomer ultimately came up short, they really made Cadott work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 22-25, 28-26, 15-13.

Cadott found their leader in sophomore Olivia Blanchette, who had 19 digs and six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Blanchette.

Bloomer's defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-15. As for Cadott, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Bloomer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cadott, they will be taking part in a tournament against Colfax on Saturday.
