West Johnston is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Smithfield-Selma. The Wildcats walked away with a 66-58 victory over the Spartans on Wednesday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Gray's Creek unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 51-47 to Pine Forest on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.
