Basketball Recap: Cherry Creek Continues Road Dominance on Wednesday

On Wednesday, Cherry Creek faced Mullen in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Cherry Creek Bruins managed a 54-48 victory over the Mullen Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Cherry Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Baal, who went 5 of 8 to rack up 14 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelynn Barnett, who posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Cherry Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Mullen had strong showings from Makenzie Jones, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points and four steals, and Chloe Pelster, who had 12 points.
