West Monroe had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Ruston on Thursday. The Rebels blew past the Bearcats 14-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-2 back in March.

West Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. West Monroe will face off against North DeSoto at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ruston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Airline at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight.
