After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Del Valle, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Coronado Thunderbirds 16-5. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Ariana Carrera made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Carrera was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 matchups.
In other batting news, Maria Lopez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Heredia, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
