Football Recap: South Columbus Takes a Loss + How To Watch

South Columbus was the 28-14 winner over South Brunswick when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Stallions and the Cougars were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Stallions suffered a 28-27 loss.

Jayden Daniels was a one-man wrecking crew For South Brunswick. as he threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes. Daniels has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Amerius Revels, who rushed for 118 yards.

South Columbus' defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for South Brunswick, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

South Columbus will head out to take on West Bladen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stallions are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South Brunswick, they will be playing at home against Fairmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Golden Tornadoes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
