Mineral Point is a perfect 10-0 against Riverdale since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pointers will take on the Chieftains in a holiday battle at 7:15 p.m.
On Tuesday, Mineral Point came up short against Darlington and fell 53-45.

Despite their defeat, Mineral Point saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sadie Miller, who posted ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Thanks to that strong game, Miller now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. Sophie Miller was another key player, putting up nine points.
Meanwhile, Riverdale didn't have too much trouble with Iowa-Grant on Thursday as they won 54-35. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Mineral Point better keep an eye on Macy McKay. She was instrumental in Riverdale's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. McKay's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Bailey Harris, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards.
Riverdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
Mineral Point dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Riverdale, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mineral Point has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Riverdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 44.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Mineral Point against Riverdale when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 62-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pointers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
