Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Trinatty Romero and Abbi Ortega Lead Monte Vista to Victory + How To Watch

Monte Vista had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the South Park Burros. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17.

Leading Monte Vista to victory were Abbi Ortega and Trinatty Romero. Ortega had 14 assists and seven digs, while Romero had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Romero a new career-high. Krissa Padilla also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Monte Vista was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive contests.

Monte Vista's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for South Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Coming up, Monte Vista will head out to take on Sierra Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for South Park, they will challenge Del Norte at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
