Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Foothill's Winning Streak

Foothill dropped their record down to 19-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 6-0 to the De La Salle Spartans. The Falcons were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Spartans' pitchers proved too tough.

As for De La Salle, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 22-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.

For De La Salle's part, not much got past Graham Schlicht, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Foothill off the board. Schlicht has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alec Blair, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Antonio Castro, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

As of now, neither Foothill nor De La Salle have any future games scheduled.
