Baseball Recap: Northampton Takes a Loss

Northampton lost against Chincoteague back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets took a 16-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ponies. The Yellowjackets' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Northampton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Porter Spence, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Spence also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Another was Jason Kim, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Northampton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chincoteague, their record now sits at 6-4-1.

Looking ahead, Northampton will head out to challenge Mathews at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chincoteague, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Holly Grove Christian at 4:00 p.m.
