Recap: Blount Leopards vs. Theodore Bobcats
The Blount Leopards's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Theodore by a score of 62-59. Blount was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Theodore apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Blount's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaiden Beck, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The game was Beck's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Andrew Williams was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Even though they lost, Blount were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Theodore only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Theodore was led to victory by Travis Davis and Jaden "JJ" Bush. Davis scored 14 points, while Bush scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Houston Cunningham, who scored 14 points.
Blount has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Theodore, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Blount will be playing at home against Saraland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Saraland is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Theodore, they will head out on the road to face off against Murphy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Deangelon Johnson and Cunningham.
